The Point of Focus versus DOF:
Setting the focus to the hyperfocal distance will result in the DOF extending from half that distance to infinity.

Hint:
Focus a little beyond the hyperfocal distance and you’ll know that everything from at least 1/2 the focus distance to infinity will be acceptably sharp in the photo.
